Whether you are hosting Thanksgiving dinner at your home, or heading to a friend or family members house, you are going to want some ways to keep the kids occupied! Prepping and cooking such an amazing meal takes lots of time and work. I have hosted Thanksgiving dinner for many years and in the past have recruited help just to watch the kiddos so I could make sure I didn't burn the rolls (note: they always burn)

I have created some really great printable games that will keep the kids busy and having a great time while they wait for dinner to be ready. Bring a stack of these games with you wherever you go to keep the fun going. You can print out multiple copies, as many as you need, and some games require minimal effort. You will love how quick and simple these games are and how much the kids love them. We tested them out and they were approved by my almost 10 year old and 6 year old :) Adults can get in on the fun too. These games are easy to play.

Thanksgiving A to Z Game

Here's a challenging thankful game! Players tr to come up with something they are thankful for beginning with each letter of the alphabet. Set this out at each place setting, or just at the kids table for a nice before dinner activity for everyone to do. It will be so fun to read wha the kids write down as what they are thankful for. That part might even be better than keeping them out of the kitchen for the day!

Turkey Match Game

A fun Thanksgiving take on Memory. Print out the cards, cut them out and fold them in half. Glue them to secure and you are ready to play. Place the cards face down and kids take turns turning over 2 cards at time trying to find the matching turkeys. It's a great way to keep kids entertained while you are cooking, or just to have fun playing a Thanksgiving themed game with relatives on Thanksgiving day. This game is a little more tricky so it's better for older players.

Roll a Turkey Game

Keep the kids busy and out of the kitchen with this fun and easy game. The great thing about it is there is no limit to the number of players. Simply print out a game card and a set of turkey pieces for each player and everyone can play and have fun! Players take turns rolling the dice and whatever number they get it the turkey piece they get to put on their game board. Play continues and players continue building their turkeys until the first player completes their turkey and is the winner.

Thanksgiving Gratitude Scavenger Hunt

Here's a fun way to get kids (and even adults) to look for different things they are thankful for. By walking around the house and hunting for things on the list, it makes you realize there are so many reasons to be thankful. Kids will love looking for things that fit the list, and you will love reading their responses to some of these. Simply print it out and it's ready to use!

Don't Eat Tom Game

Here's a fun game for the kids (and adults) to play while waiting for the Thanksgiving feast to be finished. Game is played like the popular game Don't Eat Pete. One player leaves the room and the other players decide who will be Tom the Turkey. The player comes back. A piece of candy is placed in each square and the player eats a candy one by one until they get to the square the is "Tom" IF the player goes to eat the candy that is on the Tom square, all the other players yell "Don't Eat Tom!!" Each round a new player leaves the room and gets to try to eat as many candies as they can. Such a simple and fun guessing game.

Turkey Hunt

Send everyone on a turkey hunt on Thanksgiving day. You'll love getting everyone out of the house while you finish up getting dinner together. Or bring it with you and your hostess will thank you! There are 12 turkeys. Hide them all over the place make it difficult based on the age of the turkey hunters. Give each player a game card and send them loose to find the turkeys. They mark off each turkey they find with an X and the first one to find them all wins! Or you can have everyone grab the turkey when they find it and whoever collects the most wins. It's easy and you'll love how it gets everyone up and out!

My kids loved this one and made up a few different ways to play. They took turns hiding the turkeys for each other and even timed each other to see who could find them faster!

To get your games started here is a FREE printable Thanksgiving game for you. It's played the same way as the Roll a Turkey game but instead you color in a section for each number. There is a little code at the bottom with what numbers are what color. Have fun with this one, and share a picture of your kids playing it on social media and tag me so I can see too!
